A picnical day for a lark. Or a lizard.

On Sunday we picked up sister-in-law Muzekez and went down to a park we had been talking about visiting for at least 6 months. We packed a picnic lunch and we all spent a couple of hours looking at ducks and ibis and eastern water dragons. There were several playgrounds to entertain Daniel with their slippery slides too.

It was a really nice day out.

In other news, my fingers are too fat to keep wearing my wedding rings so I bought a chain today to put them on. I'm going up to the hospital for my first ante natal clinic visit tomorrow. Here's hoping I get a doctor that speaks English that I can understand!

Why?

When Ben left work at Education Qld he was given an Amazon voucher for $200. So I put in an order for the book 101 Dalmations, which I had read many times in primary school. I read this book for the first time since then last week and I realised something shocking. Well, actually I noticed it when reading Winnie the Pooh a few weeks ago too, but didn't mention it on my blog.

What I noticed is - Disney wreck wonderful stories when they convert them to animated films!! About the only thing kept in 101 Dalmations is the number of Dalmations and the fact the puppies get stolen, everything else is pretty much completely screwed up.

As for Winnie the Pooh, did you know that only Owl actually lives in the Hundred Acre Wood? Everyone else lives far from it, Christopher Robin on one side and Pooh on the other. Piglet was converted into a stuttering wimp when all he used to be before Disney got hold of him was a shy small animal.

I just think it is very wrong to go changing classic stories and characters.

Halfway

We have reached the 20 week mark now, we are halfway there.
