Santa's Rockin'

Today we all ventured out in to the pouring rain to the Brisbane Convention Centre to see some people that I owe so much too - the Wiggles! What would I have done without them and their ability to entertain and pacify ferocious toddlers I just don't know. Not to mention their songs are just so catchy.

This is the second time I have seen the Wiggles. I must say their shows have come a long way! In 1997 they held a concert in a sporting hall on Bribie Island, we sat on the floor and there wouldn't have been more than 60 kids in all in the audience. Today it was all the glamour of a full on rock concert, the lights, huge stage decorations including 5 metre high balloons of Jeff and Murray and exploding confetti that fluttered down over the audience. If it hadn't been raining outside, the room would have been packed too. And to top it off, we had front row centre seats! I was totally more excited about it than Daniel, but never mind.

I did the actions to the songs more than Daniel too. It was so much fun! Anthony the Blue Wiggle wasn't there unfortunately. He's got a broken wrist and needs surgery to fix it and can't perform at the moment. The substitute blue Wiggle Brett was ok, he kept getting bocked on the head by the 5 metre tall Murray.

Captain Feathersword is still my favourite. He is so funny. I think Daniel enjoyed it but he may have been overwhelmed by the lights and the noise.

Maybe Daniel was just confused by the fact that the Wiggles, who up until now have only been little men in the TV set, are actually real and life-sized! :-)

Still, glad to hear that *you* had so much fun!
